Introducing GidiCab by @giditraffic - The Battle For Lagos Roads Just Got Tougher

The owners of the highly popular social handle @giditraffic have launched an e-hailing business called GidiCab! We heard rumours about this back in 2018 when they had already started recruiting drivers but we didn't realise the connection till much later. The app was launched earlier this month.
The @giditraffic handle came into prominence in 2011 and quickly gained influence with its up to date reports on traffic in Lagos. Today the handle has over 1 million followers, many of whom contribute regularly to the updates and rely on them to provide a level of accuracy that online maps can never provide due to the absence of human involvement. Their updates are considered to be humourous and entertaining. Today, @giditraffic has also spread their influence to other parts of the country and other issues. GidiTraffic's decision to leverage on their popularity and huge following of avid road users to go into e-hailing, makes a lot of sense when you think about it! Many of the e-hailing drivers were already huge fans who used @giditraffic side by side with online and in-app maps, to get ahead of Lagos traffic.
